Short Description

Our client is looking for an Assistant to start working urgently.

Duties

To assists with the general field duties which includes but is not limited to: propagation and transplanting of seedlings, plot land preparation, crop production (tillage, planting, cultivation, spraying, harvesting), accurate data collection, irrigation operation (drip and overhead), and equipment (tractors, implements, irrigation) maintenance and repairs
To ensures tasks are executed to an acceptable standard of accuracy and research protocols.
To supervise plant, harvest, pollination, and fertilizer / spray application and seed preparation / storage
To oversee productivity of sub-ordinates, and overall quality of work.

Requirements

Must have matric certificate with Mathematics, Biology and / or Science
Tertiary qualification in Agriculture / Horticulture an added advantage
Must have practical experience in both open field and protected growing environments
Must have strong communication skills in Afrikaans
Must have tractor driving experience
Must have valid driver’s license essential
