Short Description

Our client is looking for an Assistant to start working urgently.

Responsibilities:

To lead the new site development for all renewable energy technologies (Wind, Solar PV, Battery Storage,
To engagement with landowners and other stakeholders as well as; leading the negotiation of commercial terms and enter into land use agreements including option agreements, long term leases and servitudes
To identification and screening of other renewable projects both greenfield and brownfield in the marketplace with a view to acquire, and engagement with other project developers and partners to enter into acquisition and/or partnership agreements
Active involvement in project development to advance projects through the various development stages from early stage to advanced status, including overseeing and managing internal and external resources to achieve project success. The project development activities involved would include (but may not be limited to):
Land use agreements and landowner engagement
Permitting and consents, including managing specialist environmental and social studies
To managing bid preparation and process through REIPPP Programmes and similar
Identify private PPA opportunities
Compilation of bids including drafting responses, managing and coordinating external and internal resources, preparing supporting documents, final bid compilation.
Feasibility analysis of upcoming tender opportunities, including estimating tender submission costs and planning for resource requirements

Job Requirements

Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Renewable Energy, Engineering or possibly Environmental or Financing background)
Must have minimum of 2-3 year’s experience in large scale electricity project development and management
Must have experience in previous REIPPP projects and bidding will be advantageous
Must have experience of South African regulations pertaining to electricity generation and project development
Must have previous experience in securing greenfield projects and project acquisitions
Fully skilled in all relevant computer programs (MS Office Suite (especially Excel), MS Project, etc)
Ability to create detailed Project Schedules and Budgets
Flexibility to work within tight deadlines while managing a large and complex scope of work
Must have ability to work independently and as part of a small and dynamic team
Problem solving and positive approach to dealing with challenges
Must have willingness and availability to travel
