Short Description     

Our client is looking for an Assistant to start working urgently.

Duties

• To monitor and instruct drivers during shift
• Scrutinize delivery notes and escort road trucks to the correct
• To locate cargo and instruct driver to uplift and load to rail wagons
• Instruct Port Workers to place dunnage (specialised gear)
• To compare order form from driver to one in possession
• Position cargo according to stack plan
• To obtain list of cargo to be loaded onto rail truck from agent
• Report all breakdowns / accidents
• Receive RMT’s and rail plan
• Scrutinize Rail and road daily plan
• Scrutinize daily road incoming tonnages as per stock pile plan
• Scrutinize daily rail outgoing tonnage plan
• To ensure all stockpiles are clearly marked, as per cargo grades
• Weigh in and weigh out of RMTS (Weighbridge operations)
• Verification of documents, delivery notes against actual tonnages

Requirements

• Cross reference landing orders against manifest by verifying with that cargo goes to the right
• Obtain (tally) from rail / road
• Identify short landed cargo and follow up.
• Adhere to Safety and Environment
• Inland Siding: Record delays on delay sheet
• To complete delivery note and hand to driver (Bulk/Break Bulk)
• To ensure truck mass is not exceeded (Bulk /Break Bulk)
• To complete loading out list and ensure trucks are closed (Bulk/Break
• Bulk)
• To make out truck labels (Bulk/Break Bulk)
• To check Tallies against manifest (Bulk/break Bulk)
• Matric/NQF Level 4
• Must have 2 years’ relevant experience in operations/supply chain/warehouse telly clerk.
• To relevant Cargo Controller Certificate is an added advantage
